The Platinum wideband products from Global Foxcom are designed to meet the growing demand for modularity and high performance in a compact format for superior long-distance transmissions. With high RF input power and a wide dynamic range, the connection offers a complete specification service with an optical budget of up to 4 dB when used with the PL7440R4 receiver.
By utilizing Global Foxcom’s DigiRF technology, the user has full control over all key functions for setup, operation, and analysis either via the front LCD display or the associated subrack SNMP functionality.
Additionally, IMizer, an automated, adjustable link calibration system, allows the user to match the IMD/CNR of the RF links to specific linearity requirements without needing to perform a two-tone test. The user can select the desired IMD for the optical transmitter either locally or remotely, and IMizer automatically adjusts the laser driver to meet the IMD requirements. IMizer requires the use of a correction table over 2.5 GHz.
Each slim single transmitter or receiver can be hot swapped in the subrack chassis to ensure optimal system availability. Each module contains its own processor to maximize specification performance under demanding user applications at all times.
The PL7440T transmitter and the PL7440R4 receiver are designed for installation in the subrack chassis. The corresponding Platinum chassis, model PL7010, features 12 active slots, a main control processor (MCP) slot, and two redundant power supplies. Even at full subrack load and full LNB power supply, no fans are required.
